How Would You List These 10 Iconic Homes

Homes are all around us. Real, animated, haunted, magical, infamous, and cookie-cutter. But these houses don’t become homes unless someone buys them. Let’s imagine the listings that could move a few of the most well-known properties out there.

1. Home Alone? More Like Home All Your Own!

This five-bedroom, six-bathroom house sits on Lincoln Avenue and spans over 9,000 square feet. It is the perfect place to host cocktail parties with your (real or cardboard cut-out) friends and family. Nostalgic, lit up, and booby-trapped only sometimes, this home could be the perfect one for you and the very large family you’ve come to appreciate only after being accidentally abandoned for the holidays.

2. Munster’s Monster Mansion

Are cobwebs décor? Fan of the macabre? You’ll love this turreted turf! At 1313 Mockingbird Lane, a creaking metal gate opens up to reveal a vine-covered home perfect for a large, typical family of monsters children and adults alike. A central staircase flanked by gargoyles is sure to get your attention. And do you have a fire-breathing dragon pet? They’re sure to enjoy the spacious grounds and twisting trees.

3. The House of Your Dreams

Everyone has their own dreamhouse. But this is literally a Dreamhouse. Think pink with this property that can become whatever you want it to be! The house itself is three stories and furnished with the latest most beautiful furniture and finishes in pinks, purples, and baby blues. It’s located…wherever you want! And comes with optional additions that fit your lifestyle. Whether you’re a doctor, lawyer, teacher, astronaut, supermodel, mom, Olympic skier, president, chef, drum majorette, news anchor… there’s something for you! Additions include a waterslide, pool, elevator, converting furniture, interactive dressing room, garage, balcony, rooftop telescope, and so much more.

4. Mob Manor

Picture yourself standing in your long, winding driveway wearing a white bathrobe and drinking “some pulp” orange juice, surrounded by the beautiful New Jersey landscape. If this sounds like your cup of gabagool, this property might be just the right fit. A dramatic staircase leads you into the charming and spacious main house, which has plenty of Italian influence. There is also a guest house for all of your associates as well as a pool! The pool is perfect for swimming, tanning, and feeding the family of ducks that lives in it.

5. Motel & Victorian House – Big Discount!

Sure, some things may have happened at the Bates Motel and house, but perhaps you love a house with history? The deal on this two-property potential business is psychotically good. You may have heard claims that passersby can see a woman in a rocking chair in front of one of the home’s windows, but we can assure you the house and motel are vacant and in great condition! Disclaimer: The showers in the motel are currently out of order.

6. Sunset Arms: Boarders Included

Are you looking for an investment property in the big city? Look no further! This boarding house is home to thirteen tenants, all of whom bring their own charm and colorful character to the building. While there are minimal bathrooms and no central AC, there is an ultra-modern converted attic with lights, a stereo system, and hideaway couch controlled by remote. The room is also completely domed in glass. If you don’t fear putting in a little elbow grease and potentially getting phone calls from a zany old woman who is a black belt in martial arts, a small poet who runs a wrecking crane, and a boy with a football-shaped head and pig for a pet, come tour the property today!

And some honorable mentions for other homes we love (and fear) from popular culture: the Victorian row house in San Francisco inhabited by the Tanners on Full House; the farmhouse behind the painted pair in American Gothic; the aptly titled “Murder House” in American Horror Story season one; the picturesque Colonial Revival in Father of the Bride; the seventies bungalow from The Brady Bunch; the multi-generational estate that houses our favorite ladies in Golden Girls; the old white house on a hill in Beetlejuice; the sprawling seven-bedroom home with a pool and computerized closet in Clueless; the modernist, treehouse-like home and garage from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; the Griswold’s light-laden property from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation; and 4 Privet Drive, where the mail comes through the fireplace if you’re not careful from the Harry Potter franchise.
